This is a novel-drama which main characters are two musicians. Following the story, my approach was to transmit all the main aspects in a symbolic way, giving the right amount of clues, but without revealing too much of the plot. The subtitle “Only one season for Love” was the starting point. By including the two characters in a field full of flowers, I’m representing that idea of the “season”, the only season that they will have. The dark sky, full of heavy clouds, shows that this isn’t a happy and light story. The placement of the characters in the design transmits the distance between them that is revealed throughout the story. I’ve placed the pianist near a tree, because this element is a symbol of “rebirth”, of restarting a new life… a new opportunity.

Client wanted some music oriented design, with perhaps some manuscript. I've found actual Brahms manuscript and incorporated it as bacground of two women sensual heads in front, one of them has a moustache, which inclines a sensual affair between two women. Everything has vintage vibe as novel is happening in 1800's. This book cover contest was private one, but with client's permission and staff's help - here it is. The winning design. Yay!

This cover uses the interior space of a recording studio which allows all types of musicians to relate. The equalizer bars coming up out of the floor on to the back wall emphasize the recording and the digital elements. The purple was taken from the equalizer and a bright red/orange added against the gray background for a strong pop of color.
