Keith Unger is a struggling musician. On one fateful night, after a gig attended by only one person, he is evicted from his apartment. His car is booted for hundreds of unpaid tickets. And at a post-gig meeting in a coffee shop, Keith’s band quits on him. His social-climbing girlfriend, Candy, dumps him, and his barely scrupulous manager, Harry Chukstein, severs ties with him. Keith goes to a cliff in Malibu, with his best friend the golden lab Lennon, intending to jump into the ocean. He changes his mind, but it doesn’t matter, because the ground beneath Keith’s feet crumbles and he tumbles into the ocean. Overnight Keith becomes the biggest rock star in the world. But Keith isn’t dead.
