A sample of 18 illustrations done for a personal book of memories (printed book). All monotone black digital ink style based on the client's memory references. AI was used to get the lighting reference for the dog standing in grass with a tutu on. No AI was used in the actual illustration work. The brick wall is mismatched and uneven as the reference wall was *very* old and had repaired areas, plus areas where bricks had collapsed and chipped badly.

The client wanted 2x illustrations set slightly in the future. One where a group of mixed-ethnicity children are sitting in a living room with their grandmother, talking, and the other where they're watching a VR concert through VR glasses. Small edits were made between the illustrations to show the change in time (drone moved, image on wall changed, glasses added). A small robot is cleaning the floor, a digital artwork/VR screen is on the wall, a futuristic city can be viewed out the window (with monorail, and a drone that's projecting snow onto a patch of the park), and some Christmas decorations are visible. The images are near-photorealistic (precise photorealism wasn't required). I used various items provided by the client, plus public domain photos, to get my lighting references. No tracing was done. Wall VR pic belongs to the client.

My client had a photo that needed to be stylized to fit in with his website design, and he wanted text added that blended slightly with the scene. I painted over about 50% of the photo with solid colors (reducing the gradients across areas) and ran a PSD filter over the remainder to soften it. The text was given a flowing layout to mimic movement in the wind, and the font was drawn over with a cloud-like wispy brush.
