Bold logo in corporate style for company managing industrial patents

I was inspired by classical corporate style for the mark but with customized high-tech typography, since that was a requirement and logical choice considering the industry branch. If you look at an individual element that forms the mark, it is also an abstraction of hand ("holding" the rights) but the overall shape is interlocked which represents the patents being secured and the whole process taken care of in one place. It also suggests rotational movement (the INNOVATION). The way or style in which this is all shaped is very precise and symmetrical - as technology in fact is.

The company had originally been founded over 50 years ago, then sold and restarted in 2008. However the previously used logo was rather generic and out of touch with bold and sleek logos of industry leaders such as Kohler, Grohe, Toto, etc. Having decided to move the company into direction of more upscale products, the current owners required something that would reflect the new consumer-facing vision but also remain trustworthy to people within the industry - plumbers. The result is modern, premium but also industrial, with a peculiar treatment of type that helps retain a conservative edge despite contemporary look. It balances the robust and sophisticated at the same time.

in this design I put the brand name "Blue ridge" in the center in bold font and the slogan with thinner one, in the top I incorporated outlines of the mountain "Blue Ridge mountains" as the client mentioned in the brief, and crossed wrenches to representing "maintenance", in the bottom I added the initials within gear to convey locomotives /industrial and to give it classic/mature feel I used slab serif and serif font with dark neutrals colors.
