Agua de Valencia Cocktail Label

The goal was to design a vibrant and charming label for Agua de Valencia, a traditional Spanish cocktail made with white spirits and orange juice. To reflect the spirit of Valencia, I created custom illustrations of orange blossoms, fruits, and beverages. Hand-drawn typography was used to incorporate local sayings, adding a unique and authentic touch. A carefully selected color palette enhanced the orange hue of the drink, and the label was silk-screen printed in three colors directly onto the bottle.

The author wanted a Tolkien-esque sketched map style, black and white, but still easy to edit so it needed to be drawn using vector illustration software. The map has been developed from an earlier design which covered a different book's story line. It now includes more than twice the land area of the previous map. I added in a fanciful old damaged paper/hide frame, hinting at a treasure map style.

I created the label based on the product's concept, "Poción," which translates to "Potion." This concept is inspired by a local witch's legend and their potion-making abilities. The client requested a modern interpretation with some mystical elements. I designed the label in the shape of a chalice to serve as a strong, bold focal point that contrasts with the liquid inside the bottle. The angle of the product's name is strategically designed to be eye-catching both when being served and while resting on the shelf.
