Z monogram for ZenBrand

After couple concepts presented we settled on this one which covered all of the aspects client wanted their logo to express. We played with symmetry, geometry, simplicity and openness when working on this mark.

Book of poetry that prompts people to look beyond the obvious uses a photograph of a branch and a stone that has been drawn to look like a bird. The title I wonder is in a simple font with a hand drawn style and leads your eye toward the bird.

The church and the social delimma book cover

This cover has an illustrative simple and clean style to convey a message about the church and the area that surrounds it coming together. A simple church roof with a tall steeple reaching up to a cross is combined with a city skyline that is removed from the bottom of the church shape. The title is centered on the cover and quickly communicates the idea of the book with the subtitle inside the building image and near the skyline so the viewer will associate the subtitle with these two images coming together.

Client is looking for a clean simply elegant book cover design for her Bible study series that can be modified in the future for additional books in the series. She also requested flowers be used in the design. This design incorporates the vase of flowers on a simple shelf. A blue gradient fills the front and back cover. In future books, the background color can be adjusted and different flowers or other elements can be added to the shelf to give a different look that has a continuous look throughout the series.

Tilting Cover

A memoir about the author's family. This photo is provided by the author of her parents that depicts a story from the book. Cloudy images were added to the background to continue the sky feel and the boat "tilting" is emphasized at the bottom of the cover. The title is also tilted at the angle of the boat to emphasize the concept. The font chosen is simple and emphasizes a slightly casual and nautical feel. It is also narrow so it emphasizes the vertical quality of the letters in the title. Author name is on the side of the boat at the same angle and gives a personal feel, associating the story of the boat with the author.

Aquarium design postcard

Client designs custom aquariums. Focus is on his logo, surrounded by a lot of white space but inside of an enlarged portion of his logo that resembles a fish. Focusing on this portion emphasizes the beautiful curve and leads our eye to the purpose of the company. Front is clean and clutter free. Back has a call to action and displays more of his work in a simple straight line. Bulleted points make features stand out and utilize the logo again with the "eye" shape and color.

A postcard design for a company to leave at an apartment site where the person has used their web service to rent the apartment for a short time. Utilizing the colors of the company's branding, I chose to use a clean modern couch on the front. At this point, the client is in the space so they understand the process, this image shows they are in the space. The logo and call to action appear as if they are on the wall above the couch and the word love simply sits inside a heart shape that coordinates with the cushions. On the back, an illustration of what they would like the client to do. Icons communicate the methods they could share this info, but modern illustrations of people using computers show the most common method to use their service.

Cover is a play on the word Ninja in the book title. A close up of a Ninja mask fills the cover in dark gray tones. A red sash was created to hold the books subtitle with Ninja in a matching red bold san serif font.

converge fm logo

Logo for a company that designed and organized commercial office spaces. This logo uses the concept of two walls converging toward each other in a office plan drawing style. The blue color is similar to that found on plans or blueprints. The walls also have the feel of doors or a space that is open and inviting you in. The thin lines of the drawing the containing rectangle and the font are modern open and spacious representing the clean modern and professional design that can be expected from their services.

The speckled Egg Principle

The background photo is of the three speckled eggs lying on a cloth on the wood background. A speckled egg texture was enlarged and blended into the wood to apply the concept into the entire cover. Strong serif fonts are blended in as well to becoming part of the wood.

Conversations with the Future

This book cover design uses a very minimal style to communicate the idea of the future. Two "conversation" boxes with a very thin line converge in the middle leaving an open space to hold the subtitle and explanation of what this book is about. The triangles of the boxes are moving away from each other and toward the top and bottom of the cover. The power button was chosen in the bottom box to represent an action that is present in all computer and electronic devices, turning it on. This allows the viewer to associate it with many devices, including future devices yet to be invented. It also gives the viewer the idea of this book turning on visions and ideas for them to move forward with.
