As a fan of semiotics myself I was immediately drawn to this contest. The idea of uncovering true meaning of things through analysis is a very rich topic for graphic exploration. While many different concepts have been explored during the contest this particular one managed to capture the ideas of analysis (presented as the maze) and understanding (simplified eye in the center) most efficiently.

This is a logo a new book publishing company called Serotiny or Serotiny Publishing. Serotiny is the behaviour of some trees that retain their seeds up to several years, but release them after exposure to heat from a fire. The meaning is based around helping people discover their abilities and equipping them with knowledge. Thus, I used a tree, a flame and a book into one symbol.
