Classic logo for the jazz festival

The Newport Beach Jazz Party is a 4 day jazz festival that targets adults 50+ who have a high household income. These people are sophisticated and well-cultured. The audience is almost 50-50 male to female so we do not want to skew too much in one direction. We would like to incorporate colors that give a sophisticated, but not ostentatious feel. We are thinking darker blue tones, or black or darker grayscale, with bold gold accenting. Additionally, we are open to incorporating some homeage to music and/or jazz.
