Historical Map for Novel

Client wanted a historical map of Europe for his novel. The map had to be reasonably accurate yet still have a hint of style reflecting the period the book is set in (1500s). Buildings representing several towns the protagonist visited needed to be included, and they had to be correct for c.1500. Note: this was an initial run-through of the map. A later iteration had details added to Ireland, and some design tweaks.

Breweries map

The trickiest part of this design is how to present all the datas (40 breweries) on a map. Cause when it's not done properly, it will end up with messy/crowded design. The client wanted a flat style design, it was a good direction as it is a complex information on a map. I redrew the maps to adapt the style, it's not the "real" shape of the actual maps. To make it simpler i redrew the maps with 0, 45, 90 degrees lines. As only a map alone is boring, i added some flat style illustrations of city landmarks, surfing man, boats, sharks, so the overall design looks fun and attractive.

Create a captivating logo for a new european platform for mobile digital youth participation

This was a fun project, the client needs a young logo for a European mobile-app that allows young European to talk about politics, get involve in it, to speak their mind for a better Europe and vote. And it have to work without any words so basically it needs to be understood without any text / typography. Actually that's what interest me the most. So I want to make the logo obvious, simple, young and to have it easily recognize as an icon. After a couple of drawings, I decided on the one that I think work. I combined the voting hands with a mobile signal to represents a mobile voting device. At first it was blue and green but then the client needs the logo all in one color, a blue logo. So here it is.

Circles and chaos

The design is based on a conceptual and modern composition that represents the spread and superposition of the crises (both ideological and pandemic) addressed by the book. The central element consists of the off-center and superimposed circles, which not only symbolize the diffusion, chaos, and interconnection of the phenomena, but also serve as a visual reference to the infection foci (or hotspots) of the pandemic. The subtly textured map pattern situates the narrative within the geographic context of Europe. The contrast in colors (warm earth tones against blue/gray) creates a strong and dynamic visual impact, resulting in a conceptual and clean cover that communicates complexity.

The client wants a logo using a combination of images of a zen brushstroke, a road, and an image of a rich oak tree closed in the image of an egg(ovo). Hidden in the tree are the twelve stars of the EUROPA flag. They are a family-owned enterprise, who owns, manages, and develops a mixed-use portfolio in Romania, predominantly in its capital, Bucharest.
