I'm sorry I'm not going to sit here and let you all insult this person's integrity. There is nothing suspicious about them picking a design that has been tweaked numerous times.
Sorry for the comment, but I`m confused too.So...you are ready to pay $300 for a new tagline or for great and unique design? Because if I'd be honest I can`t see any interesting in the one that you choose. Sorry again, I don`t want to be rude... it`s just my opinion. Good luck!
Thank you, smeagol! I thought it was just me - like I had missed the whole "hip" thing. I was feeling so confused over the whole situation. But I feel better now knowing that I'm not the only one who thought this was a bit odd.
An explanation to all the comments: The winning design was not entered at the last minute - it was first entered as number 78 than later as 123 with changes and then finally as 242 with more changes. If you follow it you will see that it always had 4 stars. This is not a conspiracy - it was hard choosing from 242 designs, but ultimately that is what we went with, with Nephrastar's last design being a close second after agonizing over the decision. I have to agree as well-- I was a little puzzled when the deadline was extended, and to see that the winning entry was entered at the last moment makes me even more confused.

To everyone - although the winning design was the last submitted - it was a variation of other designs submitted earlier, that got 4 stars - only 2 designs got 5 stars - 178 and 242 - and it was truly a very difficult decision between the two. Some of the reasons we went with the winner included the original thoughts about new language on the banner - we were looking for both design, and the possibility of a different tag line.
that is the winner??? with so many nice designs and that is the winner? btw that was submitted in the last few minutes of the contect and already selected as the winner?! kind of suspicious if you ask me. especially considering some other designs got higher stars. pretty weird

I see that some of the banners placed here are different form the brief.
I cannot make the contest private, once it has started. I would have, but its too late now. Great entries from everyone - please do not remove your designs if you did not get many stars - I will try to give feed-back to everyone separately.
