I came up with this idea, because I travel to my regular job (24km) by bicycle and I find that is very good, stress free therapy. So, brainstorming looks like this: 1. stress free = bicycle 2. divorce, in my opinion, means that two persons heading in two opposite directions 3. divorce had to be done by two of them = that is why is only one bicycle, but a strange bicycle for two :) Also, my idea was to create the feeling that life is going on. Sad but romantic.

The great thing about this logo is that it is constructed with three graphic elements which are instantly visible. My goal was to create something straighforward and clean, since the logo would be used in small sizes on top of black lycra cycling clothes. I decided to base the logo on a classic grapes depiction, while manipulating it in a way that the grapes would form bicycle chain links. Simplicity was kept to the maximum so that it is scalable to even the smallest sizes.

Logo Design for a Gravel Event in West Australia

Brief: The client needed a logo design for a gravel cycling event named “Bike it to Ballidu Gravel”. They wanted the logo to be bold and to have a classic touch, yet playful. My Approach: I used a classic typeface and made it right in the face to make the logo look bold. I also incorporated a colorful illustration of a road and mountains to make it playful. The Result: The client liked this initial design but wanted some changes to the illustration. He wanted a gravel and rusty road, rolling hills, and canola fields since the event was based around Ballidu and Wongan Hills in Western Australia. This area is famous for growing wheat and canola. So, I happily changed the illustration as per the client’s descriptions. The result was an instant YES from him. He was very happy with the result.
