TypeScriptというプログラミング言語で書かれたオープンソースソフトウェアです。 Webサーバーを構築するために用いられます。その特徴はサーバーとブラウザの通信部分を静的型で検査可能にすることで開発の速度と品質の両方を向上させることにあります。・機械的な型検査によってバグを減らす堅牢性・市場ニーズの変化に合わせて即座に機能を変更できる機敏性これらITエンジニアの要求に応えることが目標です。 frourioは単独製品ではありません。すでにリリース済みのaspidaとvelonaという同じ作者によるオープンソースと連携して効果を発揮します。 frourio/aspida/velonaの3製品の名前はギリシャ語に由来しており、それぞれ要塞・盾・針という意味があります。ギリシャ語を選んだ理由はGitHubなどで新規のアカウント名を取りやすいこと、ドメイン購入がしやすいこと、Google検索がしやすいことです。ギリシャに思い入れはありません。堅牢性と機敏性で変化の激しいマーケットで戦うITエンジニアの武器となるイメージで戦場関連の単語を選んでいます。 velonaは非常に小さなプログラミングなので針という小さな名前にしています。
