As the story is set in the North Pole, the author requested a very colorful and wintery atmosphere with vibrant tones of blue and cyan, that could catch the attention of the viewers.
As the book is meant not just for kids but also for their adult family members, it was decided to follow a more realistic approach, instead of a cartoon style.
The three main characters — a giant horse, a cowboy and a small elf — are the focal point of the entire illustration that I created for this cover. This illustration was entirely made in Photoshop, with several versions until it was reached the desired result.
The main challenge was to represent those characters with all the details that were described in the text and still make them appropriate for a children’s audience. The vibrant colors were a big help to achieve that goal.")

The story is set in the year 2033, when humanity considers itself the crown of creation. It’s only then that Earth reveals its innermost, bringing the island of Capri to a terrible inferno… which changes the world forever.
The author requested the representation of one of the main scenes, when an immense white energy beam comes from the deeps of the Earth in the direction of a distant planet.
Having this scenery in mind, I decided to place the two planets in a position that would allow the energy beam to cross the main title. Apart from achieving a very symmetrical balance in the entire design, this was also meant to give a very curious detail, where the beam seems to pass right through the vertical line of the letter “P”.")

The client had a simple requirement: a title and an inspiring graphic. He wanted the cover to scream “read me if working from anywhere is your goal!”
In order to achieve this purpose, I’ve chosen a particular stock illustration as the central part of the design, not only for the vibrant colors, but also because it gives a very informal appearance. When it comes to the underline as well as trajectory and emphasis, we wanted to incorporate the idea of how social networks work. Individuals and groups must have autonomy for themselves. While having horizontal ties between each other. So idea is to have the line start out in individual fragments, eventually coming closer together with each subsequent fragment till they become a solid line, or they finally link or come together. In addition to logotype we created separate symbol featuring iconic A letter envisioned in a fragmented circle made out of logotype underline.")

In book 1, “Hollow Green\", young women are murdered during a snowy winter. One of the victims is found in a colonial old house, which can be seen as a central detail in the design.
The cover was made to catch the curiosity of the viewers and to transmit a sense of mystery and fear, but without revealing too much of the story.
In book 2, “Hollow’s Eve”, the brutal murder of a young man is committed in the woods. While investigating, the detective’s fingerprints are found riddled throughout the crime scene.
This is one of the most important details of the story that will influence the course of the events. That’s why it was included a fingerprint in a large scale that merges with the background.

In line with my prefered style, this is modern, minimalistic and flat design. While trying to keep some elements from original logo I kept them small and not so prominient as big number, for which I introduced new font. Featuring original red shade, design is paired with dark and light grays. Badge works great with two colors, and works equaly well monochrome. For spaces with limited space and visibility, I made two simplifed versions making the design versatile for use accros media. Out of the box design fits in rectangle rather than overused circular logos usualy seen for such occasion ;)")
