We like the idea of incorporating the shape of Montana State into the logo somehow. A creative idea would be to use the Montana state shape for the "o" in Montana :) Other possible ways to use it could be to include the state outline with words inside it, outside the state, part in part out, or just stylized in the background. Using the state is not an absolute though, so a well designed logo without the outline of the state of Montana could still be a winning logo.
Since we have a wide variety of trades from plumbing to cosmetology, the design should be capable of speaking to a wide variety of audiences.
If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
