Description of the organization and its target audience
We need a logo design for the Therapeutics Research and Infectious Disease Epidemiology (TIDE) group within the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute (affiliated department of Harvard Medical School). We are primarily involved in developing multi-institutional research in pharmacoepidemiology and implementing approaches that facilitate population-based surveillance, reporting, and control of both hospital and community acquired infections. We would like to see designs that use the color blue (or designer's choice that goes), and that are clean and clear.

Other notes
Harvard color is red, but incorporating blues would be nice as well. Does not have to have blue & red, would be nice to see them separate for options. Does not have to be a literal design based on the nature of our work. Would like to see a "wave" design or "water drop" incorporated. Simple/less is more. This is for an academic/research institution. Simple, sophisticated, clean/thin lines.

If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
Text in logos should be converted to outlines.
