I'm a fan of classic logos such as Hugo Boss, Prada, Chanel... Don't let this influence your decision making too much as I am open to just about anything as long as it is creative and fits our market. We are located on a busy strip downtown, so the logo will need to stand out above our building. Of course, EMBR is short for Ember as well, so if you'd like to take a stab at adding artwork alongside the text, feel free.

If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
Text in logos should be converted to outlines.
