Description of the organization and its target audience
I’m building a food guide to the Camino, an ancient pilgrimage route that stretches across Europe to the Galician city of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. The guide will highlight all the delicious food and drink to be found along the Way, with a focus on authenticity, tradition, quality and sustainability. A portion of our proceeds will go to relieving global migrant hunger. Our audience is the half a million pilgrims from all over the world who walk the Camino every year, particularly English speaking foodies 30-60+!

Hi there, thank you so much for considering this project!
My idea for our logo is a scallop shell (the symbol of the Camino) upturned with the scallop inside. It's evolved a little, and right now there are sort of three options as I see it. The first concept I had put "HP" for Hungry Pilgrim in the scallop, its letters curved to fit the circle, like a signet ring (https://www.nameplatedepot.com/prod…ls-for-men). Someone suggested that just HP could be confusing, so I considered the whole name "Hungry Pilgrim" shaped to form the scallop, but also thought that might be too much, and that maybe the name itself didn't need to be a part of the image. Finally, I had the idea for a shucking knife laying over the scallop, firstly conveying that it's FOOD, second a sense of action and intention (cracking something open), and third being reminiscent of some of the Christian camino imagery, such as the cross of Saint James laid over a scallop shell - something that can make the logo feel like an emblem or a crest. Here's a link to an image that also has the sort of look and feel I mean: https://images.app.goo.gl/fjrj4nEQPDQyBdiQ9
I’m looking for a simple, elegant logo that conveys the age and tradition of the Camino, but also feels modern enough that it could be on a sticker in a restaurant's window (like a Michelin star). I've attached a number of images:
1 & 2: A couple quick mock-ups I did with what was available as stock imagery on Canva, though couldn't curve the letters as I wanted
3: An antique bowl from the famous Galician pottery maker Sargadelos
4: A Camino road marker with the cross of Saint James
5: An ironwork bench on the Camino with some of the feel I have in mind
6 & 7: Two fonts from signage on the Camino
8 & 9: Two sketches, one with "Hungry Pilgrim" shaping the scallop, one with the shucking knife - please excuse my horrible drawing skills!
I would like the logo to be a simple blue on white background - it's the blue of all the Camino signage more or less.
If the logo itself doesn't say Hungry Pilgrim, I guess it should be written below as I did in those mock-ups 1&2? Putting it below feels more elegant than curving the words around the top and bottom of the shell, but I'm happy to be guided! Right now, I'm mainly just looking for an image that can be our thumbnail on Instagram, so I would probably just use the scallop itself without additional wording.
Thank you - I hope this is clear, and I really look forward to seeing what you come up with!
