We give career guidance advice to students and professionals who are looking to enter the workforce; change careers; look for a promotion and discover their ideal career path. We are creating a network of counsellors to be able to support people across the globe.

I don't want any male or female type icons - this is gender/culture agnostic, I want to convey some sense of support, guidance, expert advice, etc. Currently the logo is a signpost which is hard to read and I'm not convinced it's the right one for us anymore.(https://careerguidanceadvice.com).
I do not want a box design, I've seen about 10 of the same variant and it's hard to read. No ties and no old school "people reaching for the stars" - it's all too cliche and doesn't stand out.
Design must be able to be used online as a website header so squares, boxes and vertical logos are not suitable...

If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
Text in logos should be converted to outlines.
