Description of the organization and its target audience
We are a small, capable software design and development team with a focus on custom Mobile Apps. We are a creative, energetic group with an experienced focus on building close client relationships and delivering boutique-level quality and craftsmanship in our App designs. We focus on quality and not quantity. We are very selective about the projects we choose to take on. We annually produce 5 or 6 well-designed applications that are crafted to excel in their target niche.
Our approach to software development is to thoroughly understand the client's needs long before a single line of code is created. We do this by meeting frequently with our clients during the meticulous designs phases where detailed "wire frame" mock-ups of the application are created and refined. We know we are ready to start programming when there is no doubt left between the client and our team about how the application will look and perform.
Our team has exceptional technical and creative experience and position ourselves as a "design agency" creative developer and not as a "quick and dirty" part-time garage developer.
We told our Logo Contest participants that we want a refined, unique logo that we are proud to see on shirts and that looks great on social media and online marketing.
We want elegant energy evident in our logo.

Other color requirements
We really like the LegalZoom colors with the dark and light blue. But open to other ideas. Would love to see some designs with other colors too.

Other notes
(1) The immediate impulse for many people might be to create a logo around a "cartoon brain". We do not believe we'd like that. (2) We want a logo that can look great scaled down (perhaps with less detail) as well as large on the front of a sweatshirt, baseball cap or polo shirt. (3) We are open to considering options on colors but have selected some favored schemes in the 99designs interface. (4) We would love to have a great custom icon/shape/letters that can almost stand on its own without the company name included... but also looks great when the company name is integrated. (5) We don't want to play on (or emphasize) the acronym FBI as related to the federal agency (6) We love simple creativity that can be branded to the point of immediate recognition. (7) The TM for trademark can be used in your art. (8) The "inc" doesn't have to be prominent if you feel it works better with your design for that to be tiny or not included.

Final files
If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
Text in logos should be converted to outlines.
Unique and creative. More playful than I want but I love the multiple meanings in the image.
