The project — which dates back 10 years — has had many faces. The band, wishing for something simple and yet powerful, graciously gave me creative freedom to dream up something new.
The initial need was cover art for the band's upcoming debut release, \"Come Alive.\" I created a vector graphic that at once could be a burst, and also an eye, denoting wakefulness and a force of presence.
The project further expanded to include a 16-page CD booklet, and a revised wordmark. The art will become the basis, also, of merchandise, posters and the group's online presence.
Vector graphics aside, the artwork here is custom made generative art, created by manipulating source images with Javascript in Processing app.")

I also reside in NYC and know the Red Lion and Rockwood well. Then I did some research on your band history and influence. Most urban logos share a thick sans serif type with lettering from 1975. I was drawn to fonts like Blippo, and Bauhaus-inspired phototype faces for their bold lines and curves. So I paired that with a more compact vintage style lettering, that I then customized to better match those nice curves. I'm going to work on it some more, but I wanted to get my first submission up and say, \"Hi\" from Harlem. :)")
