The logo is very readable and easy to adapt thanks to a serif typeface, which provides a modern and solid look to the piece. The abstract figuration of the horse, comes to life through a few strokes that bring subtly elegant, powerful and speedy spirit of this beautiful animal but also its delicacy and vulnerability that make the horse an animal that needs a lot of care for its good health.
All elements are enclosed by a circle that unifies the group providing it of strength and solidity.
The Army green color refers to nature, meadows and elegance that encompasses the world of equestrian.
In short it is a simple design that directly transmits the values and purpose of the brand.")

My reimagined design includes the same color palette, general shape and text composition as the Kentucky Derby reference. I added the silhouette of a miniature pony and replaced the original “148” with a “10” in a similar type-face, as it marks their tenth annual event. Moving forward, I would add a simple line drawing of the two castle-like structures from Churchill Down’s racetrack somewhere in the background to help fill out the space.")
