The client needed a logo design for a gravel cycling event named “Bike it to Ballidu Gravel”. They wanted the logo to be bold and to have a classic touch, yet playful.
My Approach:
I used a classic typeface and made it right in the face to make the logo look bold. I also incorporated a colorful illustration of a road and mountains to make it playful.
The Result:
The client liked this initial design but wanted some changes to the illustration. He wanted a gravel and rusty road, rolling hills, and canola fields since the event was based around Ballidu and Wongan Hills in Western Australia. This area is famous for growing wheat and canola. So, I happily changed the illustration as per the client’s descriptions. The result was an instant YES from him. He was very happy with the result.

My Approach:
In the brief, the client stated that the company is located in Telluride, Colorado, a fancy, beautiful mountain town, so I added an illustration of the iconic mountain, Wilson Peak, to the logo. Meanwhile, the specific orange color code choice came from them.
