This project was interesting and challenging not least because of my admiration for Porsche design. The Porsche 911 is one of the greatest works of 20th century design. While Dieter Rams is deservedly recognised for his impact on modern design, the Porsche design team had no lesser impact.
So I wanted to approach this task respectfully and seriously, and genuinely attempt to reach a mark that could stand upright amid that heritage.
Perhaps the most recognisable element of the Porsche 911 is its tailgate. Taking a cue from the wrap-around brake lights often seen on 911 designs, I constructed a B plus C monogram.
The tapered curves — not unlike the actual tailgate of the car — give a three-dimensional effect, adding depth and beauty. Meanwhile, the mark is paired with an elegant sans serif, to complete the premium feel.")

My CAPTURE LOGO combines a photo frame with the initial letter C in a minimalist and smart way: the first half of the frame becomes the letter C. This C shape also fits beautifully into the CAPTURE lettering.")

Hence I was approached to produce a unique, modern and precisely tailored wordmark from scratch.
The central M letter was intentionally shaped to emphasize diagonals as an abstraction of recognizable architectural elements.
Triangle carrying orange accent is not there to merely fill the gap, but to add to the symbolism in two distinct ways: a) together with the left half of the M it creates a stencil-like arrow directing top right, and b) the entire mark appears as an outline of an urban planning blueprint.")

Rebrands are not only an invitation to be bold; oftentimes they are an injunction to be so. Problems with GTC's existing lettermark had to be addressed, but more than that, I wanted to elevate the company and reach towards the iconic.
Submarines, ships and planes: military application air and sea vehicles. These are among the outputs GTC supplies systems and components for. I wanted a mark that could convey both, but be tied to neither. The mark should be organic and free flowing. This is a rebirth.
I arrived to this simple and distinctive mark. It speaks to flight, yet is ambiguous. Most importantly, it conveys an emotional frequency. It is serious, yet dynamic and evocative.
One of a number of directions explored, the client seized on it immediately. We did a lot of work subsequently to flesh out the brand ecology. I'm looking forward to seeing this mark out in the wild.")
