From the beginning of contest client had a clear vision that he want to get a nice piece of joker illustration, which he could place on a business card. But, when I participates in this type of contests, I really don't want to make some complex illustration. And how you can see, I didn't.
I really had idea to make some simple, clean, modern, but joyful and funny design. Also, this design had to have a sort of my creativity and uniqueness.

The client didn't specify much what they want so I decided to research the book.
After watching the author's short film associated with the book, I decided to capture the obsession with art where gore and eroticism overlap the film has showcased.
That's why I combined multiple famous paintings with magic scribbles and blood to convey the art the character/author was seeing.
I also found the English title text way too iconic to re-do since it was used in the film, the first cover and even the most recent English re-release, so I decided to keep it in as it is.")
