BRIEF
The client offered as a reference an image of a thumbing devil. He wanted a unique variation of that image incorporated into the design. I also request that a symbol be created combining a pitch fork and the WT of Wicked Thumb.
DESIGN PROCESS
I started by doing a search for images of different \"devils\". I wanted to define the characteristics for this character to make a badass drawing (as the client wanted).
I decided to go for the classic devil style .. lots of red, horns, pointed goatee, long nails, etc.
For the symbol of the trident combined with the WT I went for something simple but that maintains the balance between both letters + the trident.
I used this symbol as part of the logo, but it works great on its own.
Lastly, I gave the whole logo a biker patch look by placing the character inside a circle and the text around it.")

This is a beer label I knocked out for a collaboration between the Sturgis Brewing Co. and the Sturgis Mustang Rally. The Sturgis Mustang Rally takes place on Labor Day weekend and is the second largest event in Sturgis behind the world-famous Motorcycle Rally.

The Ford Mustang was named after the WW2 fighter plane, the P-51 Mustang. They gave me free rein on the artwork, only stating that “it should have a mustang in it”. They came up with the name at the end of the creative process. I went with the blocky stencil letters as a nod to the numbers stenciled on the fighter planes.
