I wanted to do something with a big cat and the letter \"J\" is a subtle musical glyph. Using the negative space of the arms of the \"w\" as stripes and the \"J\" as a tail, I was able to craft the letters into a tiger character/letter mark. The curvature of the letters defines the body of the animal. Then I crafted a bold silhouette head that can be used separately as a branding element when needed. The musical hint of the tail is repeated in the bold dot of the \"i\" and the period. For the tagline, I chose a contrasting thinner weight font that still repeated the nice circle glyphs in tying the logo mark together as a whole. The tiger theme opens up some nice stripped brand patters for usage as well.")

The first thing I came up with was a cropped typeface that joined both \"Carly\" and \"Universe.\" I wanted the letters to have geometry and have some feminism to it. So I rounded the letters in Carly's name and kept the universe sqare to add some contrast. I created the words on a rise then added the handwritten catchwords and a starburst that also works as a plus sign. The final steps were to add the 90s colors to work, which, along with the cropped text, gives a very modern and trendy LA feel to the whole wordmark logo.")

I used a thin monoline weight to give it a more modern feel while still keeping a classic layout of the words. I also gave the while stacked design a slight rise to add interest. The brand will work as the mono-weight wordmark alone, but I also added a variety of other graphic styles to be used as more elaborate brand elements when needed. First I started with the requested 90s color scheme. Next, I joined the words together by extending and transforming them, which not only alluded to the feeling of the word \"universe\" but also mimicked 90s graphic elements. When I added some speckling to the transformed shadow, it united the theme, by creating a sort of starry night. I continued linking these two themes together by adding some rough simple shapes as background elements with the same speckled effect.")

Then working backwards I put the crown on each side of either the triangle or teardrop used in the band's available branding (the teardrop was even constructed from the triangle as was the triangle itself from the crown). The horn lines we created by deconstructing the crown and adding vertical lines that reached to the lower points. I've added line art and geometric line versions or each. Each moose can be used with or without the crown, lettermark and/or wordmark. The wordmark was constructed from a semi-bold line font to add a slight contrast when used with the other elements. The \"M\" was customized to resemble the form made when the top of the crown is inverted. The letter \"K\" was also customized to resemble the lettermark.")

The face just wasn't working on a dark background as an inverse so I added an oval and a stroke to that version. For the slogan, I created text on a path then drew a banner around it.")
