Lianne started her project by suggestion the use of abstract elements like a bird in flight for example. However, I truly felt it was better to use their dog on the cover because it relates to the whole meaning of the book—Leela is a sanskrit word meaning dance of life. To my great pleasure, Lianne really liked my concept and we kept refining it by integrating different natural elements to really catch the beauty of life. I admit I have a personal affinity for memoirs and Lianne’s book is no exception. Her book is a proof that life only seems like a series of un-related events, when, in fact, it is intrinsically connected and is worth living no matter how difficult it might get. I am proud to be part of Lianne’s book!")

Even more, the ginger man is bleeding red syrup instead of real blood. Finally, I completed the thriller mood by adding a grungy finish. Overall, my typesetting skills, attention to detail, and understanding of both paperback and ebook formats resulted in a visually pleasing and readable book that provides a seamless reading experience across multiple formats.")

We both decided upon the main image of a fun-looking suitcase surrounded by travel destinations from various countries. On the back cover, we used portraits of young people from different cultures to give the touch of reality that young audiences would be attracted to. It’s always a pleasure to work with authors who are open to ideas because this gives a lot of room for a designer to express her creativity.
