BRIEF
The client presented 2 options as themes for the logo.
1) The King theme (using a crown / king in the logo)
2) The Viking theme (as a reference to the fact that Nordic countries participate in the tournament).
Note: This is the concept based on the King theme. In my portfolio you can also find the design I submitted for the Vking theme, which was finally the winning design in the contest.
DESIGN PROCESS
I followed the client's request and I used a crown as the central element of the design.
I did not want to wear the typical old medieval crown but rather something more modern, clean and unique.
The client did not ask for a specific color palette, so I decided to go for a nice contrast of dark blue and bright colors (white and cyan) that make the design immediately stand out.")

The design is forged out of a target symbol. Broken apart and put together to make this badge.
The idea behind the concept is earning your stripes as a reference to XP(experience) themed games, like role-playing (competitive) games.
Backstory/how it came to existence
To represent PC gaming I was looking for a symbol to base my design off. Crosshairs or targets came to mind (both reference to using a mouse). On its however not so interesting. So I broke it down and forge this design out of it.
Simple, effective, attractive, Bootcamp spirit, tough, reflective of the brand(PC games, community, growth).
Colour palette inspired by Cammy character from Street Fighter and general army gear. Bold yet logical, relevant choice. Embodies youthfulness, energy, power, strength.
