The client came up with a straightforward name and I played around that. We live in a time when people are concerned with healthy food - it's all about low sugar, low-fat gluten free foods. Naming a bakery SUGAR SUGAR is quite bold and explicit. It's both a name and a statement. It had to be reflected in the design and it's something that I played with. The font is exquisite with its rounded curves and serifs while the simple sugar cube is perfect in its imperfectness. This design has a strong message - 'You're perfect the way you are'.
The client loved the boldness of this design and it got to finals, but sadly, they stuck with a generic option.
This design is both elegant and self-aware, it has a strong message behind it and it sure is memorable.
When it comes to design, you should always stay as far away from generic as possible, otherwise you'll end up with a generic product.")
