It is one part text book and one part survival guide. The brief for this project asks for an unconventional design with bold colours and simple typography, as the book is an affront to traditional anesthesia publishing and the publisher want the book cover to convey it.
In reply to the brief and the publisher's requirements, with a strong consideration of the target audience and the fact that book has to be visually competitive on the market, I have decided that the cover design should be simple however not boring. The design includes use of bright colours and clear, articulate typography.")

Most often it looked like, at least to me, as chaos in the mind of the person suffering and a whole mix of feelings that would just cripple a person emotionally. I extracted some of the most commonly used terms that they described and decided to feature them in the cover. My logic was that when someone would pick up the book and see the title, then maybe observe if what they where experiencing matched what was displayed on the cover. I know the issue is a little more complicated but it may be a step in helping someone who suffers from depression.")

Like those reference books that our grandparents had and helped to solve many problems, that bedside book with a lot of valuable information but at the patient's fingertips.
Use a symbol of traditional medicine, that of the doctor's visit, with an old briefcase and a stethoscope, recalling the friendly doctor who came to the house, and was also a friend of the family.
The design has a vintage palette, with the look of a book that has long been in the library and is passed on as something valuable and timeless, but with the touch of the new century's renewal of scientific thought and research for growth and enlightenment.
The visual treatment of the briefcase is done in Photoshop with an ink illustration style.")
