He wanted the design to convey his journey through all these places but he also wanted this to look original as well. The general idea of 'giant insectoid ant-like alien' is kept to. The central figure/largest present on the cover should be one of the antlike aliens inside a sort of skiff, or hovering sled, armored or otherwise protected while riding and leading the charge. The upper torso 'revealed' or armored while the lower abdomen/bottom half is secured within the vehicle. The most important aspect is only that a larger central alien is present and within some manner of human machine used for travel. A mixture of alien ants and humans should be present around this central figure, the ants either bare or in rag-tag scrap armoring using only their front limbs or carrying primitive weapons like spears and slings, while humans present should be enclosed in space-age like armor. Any humans present should be in full covering helmets
The scene should preferably be in some manner of activity, under attack or preparing to attack.")

For the cover, the client wanted to highlight a magical battle axe as the main element. She had specified how the axe should look like in her brief and I designed a concept for the weapon from scratch. I had to research and put lot of time and effort to get the axe right. I think I did a pretty good job with it. The client was very much satisfied with the results.")

I took a different approach here, other than the typical designs with zombies and apocalyptic covers. Here I thought of presenting a cover that focuses more on the disease itself.
I wanted make the cover look more deadly, cold, menacing and infected but simple and bold at the same time.
I tried to achieve that through the typography only. It was a challenge but I think I did pretty well.
I hope this approach conveys the deadliness of the virus itself rather than using traditional zombies and cities.")

For this design I followed the author requests for the idea of having the 'X' from made of two intersecting DNA strands and I did it in the best looking way I could.
In this version of the desing I also chose to put an a human-like robot figure in the position of Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man to symbolize the \"homunkulus\" from the title.")

This book is about \"Elle\", the protagonist, exploring the new world she had visited during \"Freefall\". For this cover however, there were 3 main sketches and the Jana (Author) liked this approach. Then I developed the sketch into a full artwork with all the relevant details she wanted me to include. This artwork shows a good connection to its prequel cover \"Freefall\". I think this artwork gives that hopeful yet mysterious feeling of visiting a completely new planet.")

Incorporating important elements of his story, I aimed to offer a glimpse into the world inside the book and set the mood.
