Author biography
Jo Ellie, born in 1987, has enjoyed writing stories with dark plots since she was nine years old. These included a short reinterpretation of "Pet Sematary", short stories about the lives of street animals, and small family dramas.
After a long break, during which she studied international business and fashion management, and lived in France and London, she finally revisited her old passion and took several writing courses.
Today, she lives near Oldenburg with her husband and two dogs, and as an employee in the e-commerce department of a fashion company, she would actually be predestined for rom-coms. But she is passionate about young-adult novels. Her debut novel in this genre, "Panacea - The Project," takes her back to her favorite city, London, and retains the dark undertone of her first childhood stories.

Book description
"At the time, I didn't know the true purpose of the research. That it could have cured Holden's disease. All I knew was that Devlin's experiments would have killed us all in the end."
"And if you had known? Would you still have killed Devlin?
Over 95 years ago, the Panacea Project condemned Carter Strickland to immortality. His greatest desire is to find his brother Holden, who, like Carter, was a victim of the cruel experiments. But instead of finding Holden, he discovers clues in London that the project has been revived. The research holds unimaginable possibilities and threatens the lives of countless people.
And then there's Charlie, who is suffering from a mysterious illness and is awakening emotions in Carter that he thought he had long abandoned. Her only chance of recovery lies in the Panacea Serum, to which Carter's DNA holds the key.
Carter is faced with the question that has haunted him all his life: How far is he willing to go to save the lives of others?

The book is in German. The backcover should feature a small dialogue excerpt and a summary as follows:

This cover is for the first book of a trilogy. I would love to continue the collaboration with the competition's winner after the finalization of the first cover to create two more covers.
On the first book I would like to show the protagonist (17-year old, male, in a leather jacket and a hoodie), standing on a tall building, silhouetted against a dawning sky, looking out onto the city of London, famous landmarks should be visible in the distance (Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Eye...)
The sky should be pastel colored, showing dusk/dawn.
Realistic, detailed illustration, 3D illustration, or similar
Clear, modern, serious fonts, suitable for dark and thrilling setting/tone of the novel
