The synopsis:
"Susan is a 7th grader who hates most things in her life, but especially her family. After a huge fight between her parents where she's left feeling misunderstood by her two best friends, she decides to run away to find her eccentric and artsy aunt who lives in the Montana wilderness. She ends up learning about life, love, and most of all, her own resilience along the way."
I imagined the reader of this to be smart, slightly introverted, and unique, and I pictured a cover that would respect her intelligence and appeal to someone slightly nerdy. I chose an abstract, scientific/botanical design, thinking of the repetition of counting dragonflies as a metaphor for waiting to be an adult when one is that age.
