Uncle Slinky
Uncle Slinky is a side project that I am starting for fun! I love dachshunds and I have always wanted to start my own dog collar and t-shirt line and see where it takes me. Uncle Slinky will eventually be a petting zoo where I can provide therapy animals for children. We have a small collection of porcupines and wallabies at home and our dream is to have a petting zoo called Uncle Slinky. The name Uncle Slinky is the name of my dachshund, aka the love of my life and he has inspired my product line! For now, I want a fun / unique / quirky website that focuses on our dog collars and t-shirts.
http://www.uncleslinky.com (website is not complete and we threw up a theme please do not use this for reference)
I like purple, turquoise, seagreen, yellow, orange. Need to keep it neutral so it doesn't swing too feminine or too masculine. I want it to be unique (obviously) but not cartoony. I need to keep a balance of keeping it fun/quirky but still functional. I like the idea of using retro / 90's patterns and colors. Pineapples, dog bone patterns , purple on blue, yellow on blue, a little funkiness to it.
1. Home Page. I want it to be fun, unique / quirky. I love color and I want to show my product (dog collars). I have 3 to choose from and each come in 3 sizes. I want to have an "about" and an area that displays all of our products. We are also going to sell T shirts with our logo on them so that can be displayed as well. I don't have my logotype yet, but I will be incorporating one of the illustrations. I also want an easy way for customers to contact us on the home page. I will leave the majority up to you :)
2. Product Page
A unique way to display the dog collar that makes it really stand out. I need size options, color options and "add to cart" along with product description. Maybe an instagram area where it displays people that use #uncleslinky
stay away from anything too cartoony or bubbly.
I don't want to over-do it on the cartoon images. I had all of them made so I can use them for my t-shirt designs. I think we can place them through-out the website appropriately, but we don't have to include all. I'm a bigger fan of sans-serif fonts but i'm always open to ideas.
