1) The Logo:
The style of the logo should be a paragon for the website design.
You'll find the file above.
- Fontname: Darloune (you can get a free version on DaFont)
Please note: the capital letters of the font were designed by our illustrator
- The M of MUSEOS also works as pillars of a temple -> the official icon of a “Museum” is a temple.
- The colored dots are symbols for the 5 cities that already exist.
- The M-Tempel works also solo: as an Icon, I also have a GIF that can be used on the Website
- The Font Darloune is also used for 5 different cities-Logo
2) Quick overview of the structure of the page:
- The home of Museos should present all cities, when a user clicks on BARCELONA - for example - there will be the “BCN Home”
- When the customer is on the BCN Home the page must show only this city. We would also need a own menu for each city.
-> We have to reduce deflection from the other cities, but they have to be seen somewhere. And the Logo of MUSEOS has to stay present.
- Then, the customer has to see the possibilities of the city: Which museums/sights can be visited, what are special offers, etc. For this you can take a look at the example of the existing websites for getting a feeling.
- The customer clicks a sight/museum and buys a ticket!
3) Colors:
As already mentioned: Every city has its own color. This color has to stick to every city: buttons, headlines, other icons.
The LOGO of MUSEOS combines those 5 colors.
There will be more cities in the future, but the Logo won't change, but if we add a new city/color, the website will have a new Tab, Button … with this new color.
Barcelona: #0a7f6d
Rom: #ec9998
Paris: #9f63d7
Amsterdam: #FFCA36
Wien (Vienna): #93e0e5
4) What has to stay/what is important:
- I am open to new ideas
- The colors for each city has to stay
- The MUSEOS LOGO has to be visible on every page
- It must be clear, that there are more cities, but should not be too dominant
5) What has to be changed:
- The color of the city must be more visible (more icons/buttons/call out boxes?)
- The name: currently they are called Rome-Museum or Barcelona-Museum, BUT with the new website they will only be called Barcelona, Rom, Paris.
- On the homepage of each city I have a lot of information/updates/news. Please think about a system/structure so I could still do that. Maybe by using icons? Or a news box?
- Button colors. What is the best call to action color? Stay with one color for all cities or like now: different city, different call to action color?
Super Important: Mobile First!
Info: My OTHER websites (rom-museum.com / paris-museum.de / barcelona-museum.de) can be used as a template idea, because I like their clarity. But it is not a must to copy them.
Summary:
The MUSEOS Website can have a completely new starting point as long as it is:
clear
simple
timeless,
the colors are added and
the background is white or at least very bright!
I want to start with 4 page designs - the most important ones. We will think about the others later
1) HOME of MUSEOS
This page is completely new, there are no examples to give, except my dummy-website above.
What do I need on this side:
- Logo
- Navigation (Startseite / Städte / Blog / Über Museos) - No drop down Menu here
- basic information/short text about museos
- an overview of the cities (with pictures)
- what do we offer here - section
- a newsbox: for general information/updates/news
- a personal touch (Footer or higher on the top) with my picture
- Quiz: "Where should I spend my Holidays?"
- Mentioned in: X,X,X,X,
- Footer with Impressum / Datenschutz / Presse / Kontakt / © Museos 2020 / Social Media Icons
- a language selection somewhere
- a search field somewhere
2) HOME of the CITIES
As mentioned, when the customer chooses a city, they should see another "Home".
One design for all 5 cities. Only the color changes.
What do I need on this side:
- Another Navigation
(Startseite / Top 10 (DD)/ Museen (DD)/ Führungen (DD) / Ticketdeals (DD)/ A-Z) This is the basis for each city. Keep the possibility/the space to add 2 or 3 more menu points.
DD = Here we would need a drop down menu.
- Name of the City as a "Logo"
- The MUSEOS LOGO
- A big Header Image
- a short text as description
- a picture of me
- the "old" design has 6 to 9 hexagons where I repeat the menu points visually. Is this something that is good to stick to? In a design way?
- A newsbox for exhibitions / tour highlights / current news (like corona)
- a search field
- a langage selection
- footer stays the same like MUSEOS
3) THE SIGHT / MUSEUMS description
THE most important sides of the website. The customer buys his tickets here!
Again: One design for all 5 cities. Only the color changes.
Actually, there are 3 versions of this page
a) THE SECONDARY SIGHT: The most basic one and the easiest to explain:
- Big header picture of the sight
- Headline H1
- Ticket-Button and Picture
- My rating (of the sight, 1 to 5 stars): it’s combined with a special code for google* (additional info later)
- The basic information like opening times, prices, etc. with a google Map code
- What’s there to see= text
- Picture gallery
- The history of the Museum= text
- another button
- credits
b) IMPORTANT SIGHT - more additional content
The same structure as above but more content in the area "History of the sight"
I am doing it in 2 ways:
Example 1: https://www.paris-museum.de/schloss-versailles.html
I put it all in a row - so it gets veeery long. (table of content???)
Example 2: https://www.rom-museum.com/galleria-borghese.html
I use Tabs for every "chapter"
What would be better? Do you have another idea? For SEO and Google the "all in a row version" is better...
c) VERY IMPORTANT SIGHT - more infos about tickets and on-site experience
Normally there are various tickets to buy for those sights and they have to be explained!
Also those sights are very crowded and the customer wants to know everything about the situation on-site.
And then we have the same structure as above.
Examples: https://www.rom-museum.com/kolosseum-eintritt.html
or https://www.barcelona-museum.de/sagrada-familia-tickets.html
--> It would be nice if we find a solution to combine those 3 types. In a SEO friendly way ;) Happy to hear your ideas!
NEW: I want to add a little video to each sight - like a teaser! Where can we put this?
* Rating:
a) we want to add icons like:
"Buy tickets in advance" or "good for Kids/Families". Tehy will be designed in house.
Please have this in mind while designing the rating part.
b) Also I want to change the stars to dots those of the Logo. As each city has its own dot an color, we could put 5 dots. And then we color 3 out of 5 etc... Is this something you can do?
4) MAP for each city
You probably know Airbnb and this is more or less the structure I want.
Again: One design for all 5 cities. Only the color changes.
What do I need on this side:
- A pin for each sight/museum on a map
- A side column with short description, a picture and a “buy button”
- when you click the pin the Museum should be visible in the side column (Pop up?)
- and when you click the description you will be linked to the Museums page
