This project is developing a website and an app at http://www.jinjiyingyu.com for Chinese-speaking and English-speaking university/college-level students to help them to study in a foreign country. This project will require collaboration between content designers, content developers, graphic artists and editors in China and Australia.
The website is powered by Wordpress, and will use a Wordpress theme to implement the site look and feel. We want to add a mobile app later.
Some sample content in the form of a Word document ("Prof Zhou dialogs") is attached.
Content is made up of conversations, which are organised into scenes, and within scene into dialogs. Dialogs may have multiple sentences. The sentences are written in Chinese Hanzi and Pinyin, and English. No translation is required.
We will add spoken audio in Chinese and English for each dialog. We will also add graphic material, animations and / or video, for each scene.
In the following, " => " means "each term on the left includes zero or more of the terms on the right".
Content => Scenes => Dialogs => Sentences => Chinese Hanzi text, Chinese Pinyin text, English text
Content => Scenes => Dialogs => Chinese audio, English audio
Content => Scenes => Images, Animations, Video
The deliverable required is a prototype of the website with a content-management system that allows this content to be curated online. People in different locations in Australia and China will add to, update and improve the content over time. We need to track versions, changes and users. Users may be editors and viewers.
I also need an initial version into the website loaded from the sample content file supplied.
At this stage we are focussing on the content itself, and how to do content management, and how the user interface for content management might work. But something that looks good for our target audience would
