CARO is an environmental and food testing analytical laboratory with three locations in Western Canada. Our target audience includes technical/science focused environmental engineers, as well as, consumers looking to test their drinking water, food, air or soil for contamination of metals, pesticides and many other tests.

Overall, we are looking for a clean, fresh, innovative feel. Science, technology. #1 focus air, water, soil, #2 sub-focus is food (fruits, vegetables and honey mainly) We want our site to be "happy", not boring. Our color code is #00829B, prefer the blue/grey family We would like to move away from our current stock photos and have new ones that are fresh, fun and understated. Attached are some images that we currently like and we are open to new ones that would support the new design elements from the competition. Keep overall in blue/white/grey family of colours. UPDATE We are considering an accent color and would like to see designs with what you think looks best from the following: - Gold (variation of #FFBE33) - Red (variation of #E75E35) - Orange - Deep purple (or other)

Landing Page (Home Page) - Introduction for who we are, clear access log-in portal (where clients access their testing results; client connect link above). Easy direction to our Services page, News page, Careers page, Contact us page. Very clear button to access CARO Store. Clean and logically placed Social media links, plus a "latest news" ticker or place to highlight latest blog posts. May want a place to highlight our key people through their linkedin profiles or separate key people page. Storefront (www.caro.ca/store) - Should include clear, easy to navigate classification of our products. Feature products and information. Social media links. Contact us. Log-in. Shopping cart. *Maintain as WooCommerce compatible. UPDATE: We prefer multipage layout, but we want to ensure this is compatible with mobile devices and having all pertinent information viewable on initial view. We are going to be updating our font for the final site, but would like to see text close to the Arial family. Ideally, we would like to see how the different designs show up on smartphones and tablets as a part of the evaluation. We would also like to see how the “Store” landing page looks. Key Content Blocks we would like to see: Header Menu (including extra bold CARO Store & Client log-In buttons), About Us Blurb (or incorporate into first intro block), Services (with categories), CARO Store (with 3 main categories), CARO News (blog entries, with bold prominent titles), Contact Us (with locations listed or a map, and email form), A Detailed but clean Footer menu with all major categories and social media links. Additional Elements we like: - “Client Feedback / What people say about Us” line section with a quote & star rating from client feedback - Hexagon icon incorporated into navigation elements i.e. (around images, links or other subtle ways to tie into our other branding) - Header image slider showcasing our 4 main testing divisions – Water, Soil, Food, Air - Some entries have found neat and fun chemistry images, or incorporated our periodic table into the forefront of stock images. We really like this as it sets the images apart from our competitors who all use very predictable images of technicians holding test tubes Update 2: All designs should have black or dark header banner with at least social media icons, client login and caro store.

Keep landing page header as focus point, and a consistent template for all subsequent pages that we can expand and add to.
