First of all, please note the following tension: On the one hand, we want to appeal to law firms, which are conservative, but on the other hand, we want to convey a young, fresh Web 2.0 image to underline the fact that document automation doesn’t have to be complex and difficult but that instead it can be easy and fun. The challenge for the design will be to bridge this gap.
We need two layouts.
First layout: Start page
- introduce what we do
- emphasize our unique selling point: (1) our solution is very easy to use, (2) you can get started very quickly, and (3) we are the only vendor to offer an IT platform AND a team of lawyers to assist with turning documents into templates
- potentially, show a screenshot of the user interface (the way http://www.sohoos.com does it) - you can get a screenshot of our website by going to http://knowdocs.firelex.com and logging in with the username and password combination “knowlist” / “knowlist”
Second layout: Template for sub-pages
- the template will be used for various pages describing our “solutions” (we're just looking for a design and will create the different solutions pages ourselves).
- the template should consist of the following: (1) a banner on top, (2) a navigation panel on the left and (3) a text section that describes the relevant solution on the right (see, e.g., firelex.com/solutions.php)
