Atlas - Creative Software
Atlas was born three years ago in a shed and has grown organically from two people to eight. The two co-founders comprise of a dynamic salesman and an incredibly gifted software developer. Between them they have built a large and loyal base of customers who use Atlas for software and web development services.
Our focus is not on the frilly bits of web design you’ll see a number of creative solutions companies churning out. While we respect this type of work, our core skillset lies very much in building the engines that drive websites and software applications. We build booking systems, data management systems (think workflow and audit trail), social networks, and events management systems. Our solutions are web based and we focus a great deal on SaaS (Software as a Service). If there’s business data and a corresponding workflow, or a powerful web based b2c app requirement – we’ll create you software to manage them.
We love the thrill of being given a problem and providing a perfectly engineered solution. We build long term relationships with customers who regard us as friends and colleagues and not just an outsourced development team.
All software development is undertaken here in the UK. We’re not cheap - we offer excellent levels of service and ingenious solutions to complex problems – fast!
In terms of type of company our customers range from web 2.0 start ups to large FTSE 100 organisations. Primarily male, our customer comes to us with a specific set of problems and relies heavily on us to deliver solutions.
Our customer’s reputation is intrinsically related to the bottom line. If he manages to improve the bottom line, his reputation will reap the rewards. Often the customer has no idea how the software development process works, and will rely on us to provide knowledge and confidence in the solution.
In summary, we’re focusing on company directors, entrepreneurs, middle managers and techies. Primarily between 25 and 45.
We've just had a new logo designed, the new site needs to use this logo
We like the oversized headers trend, so feel free to take advantage of that on our site re design. See the top of this page for an example - http://webdesignledger.com/tips/web…s-for-2010
We don't mind using a very long page (which is also a trend in 2010) for the laying out of a lot of content. In other words, vertical scrolling is fine.
Our website domain name is http://www.atlascs.co.uk. We want google-style doodles to appear on our site which will stand for CS (which currently stands for Clever Software). We're going to have about 20 doodles created and update them once a week. Coding Squad. Creative Squalor, Chinese Samurai...you get the idea.
We'd like site to be visible on mobile devices so keep that in mind
Twitter feed needs to be embedded on the site
We'll need a space on the home page for the various directories and certifications we currently hold (see footer of current website for examples)
Contact details (and maybe a contact form) should be visible throughout the entire website. We don't want people to have to have to hunt for our contact details.
The blog and our twitter feed also needs to be integrated in to the home page (see current website for example)
We're happy to take advantage of modern typography techniques to set our site apart from our competitors.
Home page - the first page the user sees when they load our website
Generic sub-page - for sub page content
Blog home page
There's nothing much about our existing website that we like anymore, so feel free to use it as a reference to see where we've come from but we want a complete revamp.
