RavenDB is a 2nd generation NoSQL database of the Document DBs type. It has many advanced features, and it is very good at what it does. RavenDB is written in .NET but can be accessed from any programming language. With RavenDB you can get any application requiring a data store up and running very fast due to some advanced concepts it is built on. It is meant to be used by the heaviest of modern applications, even at web-scale. And it is always evolving to becoming faster, more flexible and more developer friendly.

The RavenDB website has 3 important goals: * To give an awesome first experience with the product and its quality * To provide new users with means to quickly learn and adjust to this new technology * To help maintaining a community around the product, by providing news and means to participate To achieve that, we need site design, which is based on our logo, and has a nice looking Web2.0-ish layout. The website is should have a colorful clean-looking homepage, a simple content page layout, and a documentation page layout which is similar in nature to a simple content page but has some additional navigation controls. Our logo is available at: http://ravendb.net/static/logo/RavenDBlogo.png (there are several variations, too). 1st page is the Homepage. The homepage is where our potential user will get his first impression of RavenDB. The page needs to be informative, easy to use, and be able to market the product well. We want to have the most important info in that page visible to the users without scrolling. The other 2 pages are for the inner content pages, and specialized content pages meant for documentation and guides. - In this page we need to have (most important first): * What is RavenDB * Marketing (a “featured feature”, why RavenDB, all about RavenDB in 5 graphic slides, Who’s using RavenDB?) * A link to a quick start * Download zip / get via nuget * Learn ravendb * Us on Twitter / facebook / g+ * Titles from our News section or posts from company blog tagged as RavenDB * Source code, Report bug / ask for a feature - links to github repo - Website sections: The following sections are the basically the break up for our site, and will have to be represented by menu items all throughout the site. * Docs / Learn * Features (designed, iconic page) * Official Documentation (the official documentation is in fact a structured hierarchical e-book, so each page should be very clean and easy to read, and means for easy navigation between sections / chapters should be provided) * Tagged content (a place where community and official content will be published: Tutorials, HOWTOs, FAQ, Presentations, recorded webinars. this content should be in the same layout as the pages under docs, but since it is tagged content it also needs to graphically show clickable tags). Each page under this section should have a “discusssion” section where users can comment on content. Tagged community content can be rated. - Download as ebook / pdf - Blog / News - Community * Events * Webinars * Mailing list / forum (link) - Get RavenDB * Builds * Nuget packages * Source code * Plugins / bundles * Badges - Mailing list (link to our mailing list) - Search (a simple search box, leading to search results page) - About / Contact us - Training and Support
