Local Spark got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Website design for High Performance Race Cars from the sixties
Check out Local Spark's Web page design contest…
We sell the finest quality replicas of the Race Winning cars like the Shelby Cobra from the sixties. Our clientele is high caliber and expect the best of the best when they spend their money.
Dark theme with red highlights. The website can look like it is from the sixties but the cars need to be shown in perfection as they are the highlight.
Here is the entire approved navigation : https://share.proto.io/J1FSR6/ (click the nav to see secondary pages) The owner is a huge fan of easy to click visualizations and making sure the user is guided properly. The goal is to get the user to see the car they are interested in and direct them to a dealer in their area. Homepage: Highlight the cars, easily clickable to get to the car they are interested in. (They approved the quick mobile mockup attached, you can use this as a guide is you wish but it is not required because it might not fit in your design properly. I will include the versions they did not approve as well so you have an idea of their taste.) MKIII Page: Current page: http://www.superformance.com/mkiii.aspx You have almost complete freedom here, there are only 2 versions (MkIII & MKIII Roadster) They want them split up better so they have their own pages but you can still get back and forth to them. Here are some photos that you can use. https://ted7.smugmug.com/Cars/Professional-Party-Photoshooti/SPF Try to use the more authentic fat tire photos. The 3rd design should be the mobile version of the MKIII page.
What to avoid
no preference, it is even ok to have old/new components. But overall we are focusing on mobile and using October CRM. We are also fond of Material design or anything new. Just let us know where you pulled the components so we can easily replicate them, otherwise we will build from scratch.
Please use your own imagination here. These are $100,000 cars, so a certain sophistication is expected. The middle version selected was grungy but it ended up being selected mainly because they like the car the most and the dark / red look. So do not think the grunge look is going to be the lock. Period specific takes precedence. We will more than likely be using the winner to finish the rest of the pages as well.
