Mgp got their new web page design by running a design contest:
website design for ForwardPass
Check out Mgp's Web page design contest…
ForwardPass is a coupon service for both merchants and their customers, similar to other coupon services like Groupon. ForwardPass allows merchants to issue coupons that can be passed on from one person to the next. The home page is oriented towards end users who will have received a coupon from either the store or a friend. They have been directed by the text on the coupon to visit the website where they will need to "register" the coupon before they use it.
Groupon.com - Clean presentation, highly readable. Zipcar.com - Nice use of imagery and icons to explain a complicated process Mint.com - Clean presentation, highly readable
Page 1 (home) ------------------------- This is the home page for the site. In order of importance, the purpose of this page is to: - Establish the credibility of the company such that the end user will feel comfortable "registering" a coupon that they will have received. The registration requires the end user to authenticate through Facebook - Make it really easy for the end user to register the coupon - Make it clear to the end user why we are asking them to register the coupon they have received before they are able to use the coupon The current design of the page has the following elements: - A direct message to the end user re-affirming that they are in possession of a particular coupon and explaining that the coupon needs to be registered. - A graphic representing a hypothetical card to assist in the explanation of how to register the card - A form consisting of a text entry field (for the coupon number) and a Facebook login buton - A link targeted to merchants who want to learn more about offering the service at their own stores. Page 2 (couponregister) ------------------------- This is the landing page for users who have successfully registered a coupon. In order of importance, the purpose of this page is to: - Give the end user all the information that they need to physically get to the store that is offering the coupon - Communicate to users the ways that they can contact ForwardPass in the event that something goes wrong - Re-affirm that they will only be able to present this coupon one time and encourage them to pass the coupon on to another individual once they have used it. The current design of the page has the following elements: - A short greeting congratulating the user on having registered the coupon - The name and pic of the Facebook user who's information was entered, as well as the coupon number entered - Reiteration of the detailed information found on the (e.g. % discount up to a certain dollar amount) - The name and address of the store that issued the coupon - A Google Map of the store that issued the coupon
I would like to use an instructive card image as in the attached design to show where the ForwardPass # is, but I would like to sort of silhouette the card such that it doesn't contain an actual store name, etc. The card image should represent a generic card while showing where the number is located.
