dumiretech got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Volunteer Fire Department Site
Check out dumiretech's Web page design contest…
I need a photoshop design for a volunteer fire department website. I will provide the wireframe (which you will need to follow) but you can pick the colors as long as they compliment the logo. Three separate page designs will be required, one home page and two interior pages.
What's your vision?
Desired Color Scheme: Complimentary to the logo Desired Style: professional but exciting Accepted File Formats: Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff) I've been working with a volunteer fire department to redesign their website. We have mapped content, designed a wireframe and now we're ready for a prototype. On the wireframe, you will see three boxes designated "incident graphic", "Incident Title", and the third with 6 incident thumbnails. This will be a flash viewer that reads news items from a database. You will NOT be required to program this interface, but I will need you to design this area's graphical elements. Getting a workable logo has been a little difficult so for the purposes of this content, you'll need to grab a logo out of a photo I have. Bonus points for people willing to touch up the logo good enough for the website. I also have the logo in PS format but the colors are wrong. I do not have access to the font for the fire department name as of yet. Do not use stock photos that you may find somewhere on the web. The client wants their own photos used. I am in the process of uploading the clients photos to fotki for everyone's review. They are also on my own web server but the upload bandwidth is only 768k so it may be very slow to browse them all. All required files and photos can be found on my development site at http://sp.dumire.net TERMS of the contest (READ THIS!) I want to be up front with everyone and let you know that I have done I think 6 different sitepoint contests now. Every one of my contests has had a winner and every one of the winners has been paid. I do want to be clear though that this is not a 1 week job. There will likely be a few rounds of revisions with clients that may take up to a month. I don't expect it to take that long but I do think it's possible. As such, I'm willing to pay you 1/4 of the amount when your design is selected and AFTER you deliver me a psd file. I will then pay you an additional 1/4 AFTER you deliver two interior page designs consistent with the homepage and acceptable to the clinet. I will pay the remainder after all revisions have been complete and you have delivered the final psd files. When I say I pay after you give me the files I mean just that... you email me the files and THEN I pay... not the other way around. I also would strongly prefer someone who can take paypal. If you are in a country that does not accept paypal, then you will need to either pay the wire fee out of your winnings, or wait for a check to be delivered to your country and to clear your bank account. Please note that wire fees can be in excess of $50. I'm currently offering the top prize for un-coded web designs right now and I hope that the submissions reflect the kind of quality that I'm paying for. I know that I have lots of terms and conditions to follow but I think the top prize makes it worth your while. Thanks for taking a look at the contest. I hope you submit!
