I want a very professional look with a modern design. This includes a simple design with web 2.0 look.
What's your vision?
Desired Style: Simple and clean with web 2.0 effects. A horizontal menu at the top, below or next to the logo. A footer with quicklinks should be included as well. Accepted File Formats: Standard Web Formats (.jpg, .gif or .png); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff) I want a very professional design for my company, FeWorks Ltd. We are not limited to one market on the Internet, and are always open minded for new ideas. Which means I don't want the design to scream what we are mainly working with and the visitor should not get any missleading ideas because of the design. Design Requirements What I want and what I definitely don't want. - Web 2.0 - Simple and clean, basic effects (reflections, gradiant etc) on the right places. Sitepoints header is a nice example. - The design should definitely not look like it was bought from a template site. - The design must be mainly made with Photoshop and delivered as a PSD. - White background is prefered. Verdana is prefered as font. - Don't include any photos that is generic to the market. The images I prefer to have is: - Screenshots of products and websitesYou are not required to design more than the main page if you don't like to, but I would be happy to get an example of sub section as well. On the main page I want to have a good overview of the site. Latest blog posts, Services and Products etc. Maybe a quick description what FeWorks Ltd is and what we do. Website Sections The design should include these sections. Sub sections are not required to be part of the main menu, but must be reachable from the main page (maybe in footer?). I'm open for ideas. - Home - Blog - Network - Services - Web Development - Search Engine Optimization - Search Engine Marketing - About Us - About FeWorks Ltd - Co-Workers - ContactThe menu must be editable and not locked to those sections. I must be able to edit those in the future. I would prefer an horizontal menu for the main sections. Web 2.0-tabs are welcome. Sub sections can be linked from footer if necessary to keep it clean. Designs I like: To Give you an idea of what type of designs I like. I will here give a few examples of sites that I like. I will comment on things I like about them and remember that these designs are not optimal for my requirements and are not necessary using the same layout / form I would like to use. I will comment specifically if I like the layout / form and if a similar woulf fit my site. All designs I will go through here are typtical web 2.0 designs. http://www.rainfall.ro/ This is a very nice design overall. White background for logo and text. The horizontal menu is also great. Gives the user a feeling that the site is alive when she navigates. They have good balance of effects and are not using too much of it. Their "News & Events" are nice and something similar for my "Latest blogs posts" would be good but not necessarly in the same position. I guess I would prefer a 2 column-design as well. Maybe 3 on the main page but definitely 2 on sub-pages. http://www.inspiredweb.com.au/ I don't know why I like the menu but I do. It's very simple but fits very well into this design. We got primary light background colours and that is nice as well. The font is also nice, an extended space between rows. What I don't like about this design is that the dark colours are dominating the design. http://www.freeagentcentral.co.uk/ This is a design I like very much. The content floats "free" and are not confined which makes it easy to look at. Once again, a good horizontal menu. Nice effects used at the right places. Something similar to this would be great. http://www.ekklesia360.com/ Another design I like very much as well. Same for this design, light background are dominationg and that is good. A nice menu here as well and this design has a layout similar to what I had in mind for my main page. It lacks a good footer and The big area above the menu looks good but I have no use for anything similar on my site, at least no so big and not mandatory to the design. These are just examples of sites I like. Don't copy them, but feel free to be inspired and get ideas...
