UPDATE: Hello to all!
Thanks a lot for your great work.
You have been selected because we like your vision and your ideas.
We can't wait to see what you can propose on the other pages!
We will comment each of your designs to point you what we like and what we don't.
Below are some more general information for the different pages that we think are important from what we have seen on the first round.
We prefer sans-serif, clear and not too round fonts than big ones.
We prefer crisp-clear line icons than big ones.
The header should be clear.
We prefer the logo to be on the left than in center.
It should contain the text "Mobilier contemporain et découvertes." somewhere, which is our tagline (you can see it next to our logo on our actual website).
Here are the items of the main navigation : Offices, Community, Housing, Lighting, Garden & Terrace | Brands
The "less important" items should be visually separated from the main navigation (on a different menu, or on the right and less bold/smaller) : In Stock, New products, Showroom, About, Blog
The search field is important and should include the text "Que cherchez-vous?" inside.
The cart is important too and should display the total (in CHF) of the items in cart.
Other important items of the header are : favorites (with number of favorives), items watched (with number too) and account link.
The language switcher is also important, but should not be too flashy. Using just the language in plain letters is fine (FR/EN/DE).
The text "Proud to be a Swiss company" should be displayed somewhere on the top of the website.
As you can see on our current website, we have a lot of sub categories.
Don't forget to design our submenu too (when we hover a main menu) and the cart when we hover it (should display products in cart, as you can see on our current website).
This should include icons to our social medias (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter).
Also include our advantages which are "Satisfied or refunded", "Shipping in 48 hours of products in stock", "Free delivery for orders over CHF 100*.", "Secure payment".
Our payment methods should be displayed too (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, PostFinance, Paypal, Twint, invoice).
We also have an app on the App Store ands Google Play, so you could include buttons to download it from these stores.
This page should introduce our company, what we do and for who.
This is why the different sections and texts on our actual homepage (https://www.batiplus.ch/fr/) should be present on our new homepage.
They can be presented in a more dynamic way than our actual homepage, why not with random products from the corresponding categories, icons, etc.
We also want blog posts to be presented on the home page. If possible, in a more dynamic way than how it's usually done on other websites.
You can use the blog post images and title, why not the name and image of the user who posted it (not necessary, will usually be the same person, but this can add a more personnal feeling).
The blog post description is not necessary on the homepage, but we are not against it if the look & feel is good.
There should be a section with a call to action to subscribe to our newsletter.
You can add a sections with "New products" or "Trending products" so that we have some products displayed on the homepage.
We also have 3'500m2 of showroom/exposition, so this is a big plus for us. You can maybe integrate that information somewhere on the home page (we have uploaded images of our showroom, it's the pictures IMG_0201.jpg-IMG_0208.jpg).
Please also integrate some of our last Instagram posts somewhere on the page.
This will be the pages from main navigation, for example "Habitat" (Housing).
It will allow users to orient themselves on the subcategories of it (chairs, tables, stools, etc) and to be inspired.
You can also include blog posts on this page to make it more lively, employees, new/trending products.
These pages will serve as real orientation pages with the upper section listing subcategories with images/icons for example (in the form of blocks/mosaics for example).
Category pages/listing of products:
On the more standard category pages ("Chairs" for example) will list products and allow to filter them (Price, product order, Category, Supplier, Designer, in stock, etc.).
For each product we should display it's price, special price, name, image and stock availability (In stock, 5-10 days, etc).
You can add icons to add product to favorites, but we don't need a button/icon to add it to cart here (only add to cart on product details page).
You can also display the % of sale if you find a good way to do it, otherwise it's not necessary.
Product details page:
Our products can have 0-many options that can be selected from dropdowns (color, length, wood, etc).
Technically we cannot use colors as "color swatches", we can only use dropdowns.
We can link blog posts to products, so on this page we need to display blog posts associated with the product.
The page should be clear and information should be well structured (not floating arround).
Blog homepage + articles
Layout of the blog homepage as well as the article page.
You can use the articles on our current website as examples.
On the article detail page it is possible to link products concerned by the article.
Let us know if you have any questions!
UPDATE: we have prolonged the delay of the first phase because we have a public holiday coming up here and won't be able/limited to answer to your messages and comment your designs from tomorrow (13th September) 12pm CEST to Tuesday (17th September) 8am CEST. Thanks all for your amazing work!
