diegosavino got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Skin Three Wireframes for Real Estate Website Re-design
Check out diegosavino's Web page design contest…
VirginiaEstates.com is looking to update its website to incorporate modern design, usability and functionality. We have created three wireframes for the home page, search results page and property pages. We need a good designer to take our wireframes and create a compelling visual layer that includes modern color scheme, buttons, iconography, background textures and type.
What's your vision?
Tagline: None Desired Color Scheme: Green and Tan (See Above) Desired Style: We are looking for something that is both elegant and modern in a web 2.0 style. Accepted File Formats: layered PSD or PNG files VirginiaEstates.com is looking to update its website to incorporate modern design, usability and functionality. We have created three wireframes for the home page, search results page and property pages. We need a good designer to take our wireframes and create a compelling visual layer that includes modern color scheme, buttons, iconography, background textures and type. Please download and review the three wireframes: Home Page Search Results Page Property Page ------------------------- DESIGN NOTES The wireframes are fairly detailed but are only meant to be representative of layout and functionality and not visual design. Please understand the Design Notes as points of departure and not constraint - i.e. take the wireframes and run with them, don't just simply slap some colors over it. Logo The logo will appear as in the Home Page wireframe. Use the logo PSD file here for the design. We would like to see this rendered with a gold chrome finish. Color Scheme Being from Virginia, we favor a green and tan palette but would not be adverse to greys and blues. A good article to read on real estate color schemes is at Smashing Mag if you are interested. Style We are looking for something that is both elegant and modern in a web 2.0 style. If you look at the current site, the style is quite outdated. Some sites we like are: http://www.coldwellbanker.com/ http://windermere.com/ http://www.homes.com/ Overall Layout Header The header will have a large background image as in the wireframes. You can download the mountains image here. You can use this image or find another. Left Image Bar This area will only appear on browsers over 1024px in width. It will be a rotating image. You can download the waterfall image here. You can use this image or find another. Icons All the desired icons are represented in the wireframes. Type We will be using CSS for mostly all of the type except Buttons, Banners, Primary Nav and the right home page Graphic links. Serif typefaces similar but not identical to the logo - Giovanni Book - would be good. ------------------------- Please read the Design Notes for each page below: Home Page This page will use AJAX to replace sections of the page as per the wireframe. The right hand ovals are representative of graphical links to those sections. Ovals are not desired here. An interesting style for this is on Glenmore.com at the bottom of the home page. Search Results Page Pretty standard search results page for real estate. The only block that is some what different is the Layered Navigation On The left. This nav will allow users to "lock" different filter (a lock icon appears next to filter) under each search parameter via a DHTML menu. Clicking on the lock will remove that filter. Property Page Again standard basic real estate page. ------------------------- After admiring a lot of the work that has been done on SitePoint we are finally posting a job. We are really looking forward to seeing what the designers here can do with our wireframes. Thanks and good luck!
