ShayneTilley needed a new web page design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 37 designs submitted by 16 freelance designers.
SitePoint
sitepoint.com is a popular destination for web designers, developers, and deal makers. One of the most visited sites in the world, sitepoint.com has been helping people build a better web since 1997.
We offer a range of educational products including books, kits, and videos and provide tonnes of free content through our blogs, articles and newsletters. Our vibrant community has hundreds and thousands of members and for those who remember, had a significant role in the establishment of this wonderful site.
Our target audience are Web Designers, Developers, and Deal Makers.
Really, anyone who has a passion for the web
In December, we're going to be running a countdown to Christmas campaign. Each day we will release a new and deal on SitePoint products.
For those that have had an advent calendar before, where you open up a little door and get a really bad chocolate each day, it will work in a similar fashion.
I've put together a mock of how I'd like page layout, which will also give you insight into the dynamics of the campaign.
In terms of aesthetics, I'm pretty open. What I'll be looking for is something that doesn't feel over christmassy, subtle elements of Christmas will work, but nothing to heavy or over religious.
The day elements will need to have three states - closed, open, and locked.

After the winner is chosen, I would also like to work with the designer to create the 24 different centerpieces. I'll negotiate a price and time-frames with the winning designer - but there will be extra work on offer for the winner.
Note: This is a blind contest, but we're going to try something a little new. I'll be running this contest for 4 days as a blind contest then open it up for the last couple of days. It's just a test to see how this works for designers and contents holders, but wanted you all to be aware.
