Adam Goodrich needed a new web page design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 147 designs submitted by 48 freelance designers.
We are working on behalf of a private client. The name of the client will be shared with the winner of the competition in order to start work on the next phase of the project.
The purpose of the web site is launch a paint business and its products into a new market.
The predominantly thirty something female audience will be looking to re-invigorate their home by repainting it and will be encouraged to express their individuality through the use of colour.
The site needs to build belief and trust in this new and unknown business by showing that it is a credible business with a significant history and pedigree, and that it is an expert and socially and environmentally responsible innovator in paint and colour.
While the business is typically seen as a sophisticated leader in its field the site needs to reflect a shift in its consumers tone and personality that is not typical of most paint web sites. Our core values are self-expression, freedom of choice, an exhilarating experience that you can be proud of, and the personality is relaxed, humorous, and approachable.
The site needs to surprise and delight with its use of colour, and needs to encourage you as its audience to do the same.
What we are looking for:
What we are looking to get out of this contest is the designer that nails the general structure and vibe of this brief by creating an attractive and useable home page. We will take the output of this project and refine this in a separate project with the winner.
The site is all about creating credibility and then surprising and delighting with colour. Some bold colour examples are shown below.
Home Page - Standard
Design home page as per the wireframes supplied.
Home Page - Responsive
Also provide a responsive version of the design.
Please see the attached home page wireframe.
It shows the approximate site layout, and main site design.
We need a rendering of what the home page could look like in on both desktop and on mobile as a responsive site, and the content will be delivered as raw art / design files e.g. photoshop.
Where it makes sense, use iconography and colour that works for that site item, and if it doesn’t make sense, just use made up place holders. More content will be provided in the next phase of the project.
The structure of the page design must work as both a responsive site on a mobile device, as well as a standard web page. We are open to alternatives to the way the home page works for great design.
