aklegislature got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Redesign the Alaska Legislature's Website!
Check out aklegislature's Web page design contest…
We are the legislative body for the State of Alaska. We serve the citizens of Alaska. This site is non-partisan and informational in nature.
Flat design, blue feel, with yellow/gold accents (state flag colors). Bolder coloring than our current site. No photo background. Want repeating textured background.
Homepage: Prominent search function, generalized vertical navigation that expands out to sub-navigation for more specific pages (see Utah Legislature for idea). Daily calendar, "live now", "spotlight" area for featured links. Bill information page: provides information on a specific bill. An example of our current page is here: http://www.legis.state.ak.us/basis/get_bill.asp?bill=HB%20%2056&session=28 Legislators: a page to list legislators in the current legislature. Would like vertical list vs the current table. Thumbnail photos, city from and party affiliation should be listed (which currently is not). The leadership should be prominent at the top. Current page: http://house.legis.state.ak.us/
Our current website hammers you with information overload. We would prefer a simpler homepage that funnels you to what you want vs. the current "list everything". The navigation should get the visitor to what they want.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Web page design starts at $599.
Full copyright with production-ready files for digital and/or print.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their web page design.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
aklegislature collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
