nicolas.zenker got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Re-design Silicon Valley Tech Startup Website
Check out nicolas.zenker's Web page design contest…
We lease calendar management and add-to-calendar software (APIs) to businesses for them to integrate into their websites, emails and marketing materials. Our target audience is businesses who would benefit from having their events on their current or potential customers' personal calendars.
We'd like to keep a white or very light base color, and then use a unified color palette over the top to accent or highlight important parts. Can use different light color backgrounds to help organize the page if you think that's best! We like the simple google style. My adjectives are: clean, elegant, professional, simple, technology. We want to convey that we are a pure technology company that is well-run, professional, and very good at what we do. We don't want it to be boring though - we still want to convey that we are a tech startup so we're hungry and driven and cutting edge. This website needs to appeal to developers (since those will be the people actually using the products) but also friendly and intuitive to marketers and non-tech people (since these will be the people often making the decision to buy our products).
Homepage: We want our company name and an introduction to who we are and what value we provide at the top of the page. Then we'd like to keep the tools summaries and the list of customers, though that should be be reorganized / redesigned. We'd like to remove the entire pricing section and move it to its own page. This page should be an overview of who we are and what we do, then channel people either towards the tools page to learn more or the pricing page to purchase a plan. This page needs to provide an amazing first impression. Pricing page: should be simple, intuitive, and optimized for conversions (people selecting and paying for a plan) About page: this page should be totally redesigned to match the design of the rest of the website. It should clearly and compellingly portray the information on it. We can to tell the narrative of the company and why our history has lead us to be the #1 in our field - how our past sets us up for future success. We want to really highlight those numbers in the middle of the page, and could even more them to the home page if that would be more effective - up to you! Front page of blog: This should be very clean and simple with an intuitive layout that allows users to easily navigate the different blog posts, while getting them excited to start reading. 'Events with RSVP' tool page: This design should focus above all else on making the information it is presenting clear and understandable and un-intimidating. This stuff and get really technical, and we want to make it easy on the user and an enjoyable, aesthetically pleasing experience that holds them by the hand and walks them through the information provided.
Please ignore the current logo, at it is currently being re-designed. You can feel free to use a new design or logo or do as you see fit, but don't design the pages around the old logo as it is about to be replaced.
